Hard Tribe Girl  Maria V. Elgar Born in Hamburg, Maria lived all over the world including Hong Kong, the Philippines and Greece before coming to America at 8 years old where Hunter College Elementary School sought her out for a program for gifted students. From NYC, Maria moved to Westport, CT graduating Staples High School at the top of her class. Continuing her education at Sarah Lawrence and Smith College where she also studied at the University of Florence. Maria went to work on Wall Street following in the steps of her mother Rita who was the first female bond trader. She began her career with Muriel Siebert, the First Lady of the Stock Exchange and from there enjoyed a very successful career with Merrill Lynch as an Investment Advisor trading sophisticated instruments for Wealth Management Clientele. During Maria’s tenure at Merrill Lynch she received various awards including Rookie of the Year, Superstar of the Year and Female Sales Leader. Maria moved to Los Angeles in 2002 where she took her first job on the production side working for Ritts/Hayden. After the untimely death of Herb Ritts, Maria went on to Junior Rep for the top Commercial Reps in Los Angeles before going independent. HARDTRIBE CREATIVE REPRESENTATION was formed in September 2006. Maria lives in West Hollywood with her little white doggie Trixie Divine.   |
